Match Report
The Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School Boys-U18A vs  Bancroft's School
On: Wednesday, 11 Dec 2019
Venue: at Home

The HABS 1st XI fielded a younger side for what would be the penultimate game of the season against Bancroft. After two defeats on the spin, HABS were eager to put things right and started very strongly with Nathan Oba-Okusanya causing problems down the right side (something which became a theme for much of the match). The game was fairly even throughout the first half which eventually finished goalless with HABS enjoying the better chances. HABS started the second half even more brightly than the first, fashioning some good chances down both wings with Ethan Myers and Remy Sanders linking up well down the left-hand side. The deadlock was finally broken when the ball broke to Nathan after some good play and he put in a lovely cross touched home by the Bancroft’s defender. The lead didn’t last long, however, as Bancroft’s got an equaliser against the run of the play. Fortunately, that didn’t seem to slow down HABS’ strong attacking play with Remy and Dan Rossiter both failing to gobble up some good opportunities. The chances kept coming and eventually the second goal did too. The man of the match – Nathan Oba-Okusanya – continuing to cause problems down the right side, skinning their left back, pulling the ball back from the byline to where Ethan Myers was waiting at the back post to poke the ball home. HABS comfortably held on for the final 15 minutes for their 6th win of the season.

Man of the Match – Nathan Oba-Okusanya.
