Match Report
The Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School Boys-U18A vs  Dr Challoner's Grammar School
On: Wednesday, 20 Nov 2019
Venue: at Home

HABS recent run of excellent results came to an end at the hands of an excellent Dr Challoners team on Wednesday. The visitors started much the quicker controlling possession and creating numerous opportunities and their pressure paid off after 10 minutes when they were deservedly awarded a penalty which was converted. The goal woke the home side up and they began to get a foothold in the game. They went close after excellent work with from Ed Cleaver whilst and Joe Santhouse's pace always looked likely to cause the away team trouble. HABS started the second half with more intent than the first; a Henry Mattey strike from long range and a well worked short corner course caused the away team some anxious moments before Dr Challoners gained control of the game by scoring from a well worked move to put them 2-0 up. Again the HABS boys recovered well and got themselves back in the match when Viren Dulabh was pulled down when he looked certain to score. Ben Bellman converted convincingly from the penalty spot. With the game poised for a close finish the away team stepped up a gear yet again and scored two excellent goals to put the game out of HABS reach. A wholehearted team performance and a very useful learning experience for a youthful Habs 1st XI.
