The Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School Boys-U18A vs  Chigwell School
On: Wednesday, 13 Nov 2019
Venue: Away

The Habs U18 First team went up to Essex for the eighth game of the season against Chigwell School. The Habs boys took a while to settle and this led to us conceding from an early cross and going 1-0 down. However, this was a clear wake up call and we started to control the game. An important goal came from the clinical Ed Cleaver, to bring the game back to 1-1. Nathan Oba-Okusanya also decided he wanted a goal and took advantage of the space infront of him and released from far out a powerful, bending shot that wrong footed the Chigwell keeper, 1-1. Game on. Despite many close chances, including a mazy run from Joe Santhouse through the Chigwell defence and a chip shot just over the crossbar, both teams were level at half time. After some tactical words from Mr Hails at the break, Habs wanted more from this game. In the early stages of the 2nd half, Ben Bellmen produces a superb fizzed pass across the pitch to Viren Dulabh who layed it off to Hugo Bach who struck beautifully into the top corner. The rest of the game was controlled by smart pressuring play by Habs leaving the Chigwell boys to become a little frustrated. The Habs focus dropped a little towards the end and were punished by a free kick scored by Chigwell to make it 3-2. Despite, a tense final 2 minutes, Habs held of for a hard fought victory.
