Match Report
The Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School Boys-U18A vs  Brentwood School
On: Saturday, 09 Nov 2019
Venue: at Home

On the 9th November, Habs U18's embarked upon a match against a notoriously strong Brentwood side. It was an early Saturday start, and the weather was cold and foggy. As usual the pitch was immaculate but fairly wet causing a few slips throughout the match. Both sides warm-up were brief, but the Habs warm up, led by the skipper Ben Bellman was efficent and HABS were warm, primed and ready. The home team started well dominating the midfield channels without creating too many clear opportunities. Brentwood improved as the half went on and always looked dangerous from high quality set pieces which were defended well throughout the match by HABS. The match went into the break goalless with both defences on top which was also the pattern of the match in the second period. Habs started the second half stronger and within 5 minutes they broke the deadlock. Some intricate play down the right found the pacy Joe Santhouse and his trickery made the byline. His sumptuous chipped cross found Remy Sanders unmarked and he made no mistake with a fine header. HABS lost a little steam as the half progressed and a very able Brentwood side dominated possession and eventually this pressure paid off despite heroic defending from the back four and goalkeeper. The final whistle blew shortly after this equaliser leaving the HABS boys a little disappointed by the score line but taking many positives from the match, notably the defensive display and excellent attitude of the whole squad.
