The Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School Boys-U18A vs  Highgate School
On: Saturday, 12 Oct 2019
Venue: at Home

Wet conditions overnight meant that as both teams arrived they knew it would be a challenging pitch to play on as the ball would zip off the surface. After a tough opening half neither team found a breakthrough with Kazim Yurtseven making some excellent saves in goal on his 1st XI debut. HABS used the width well with Ethan Myers getting up and down the right flank giving problems to the Highgate defence. Mr Hails parted wise words on the boys who stepped out for the second half and were unlucky to fall behind early on after a Highgate corner as HABS failed to clear their lines and the ball was forced in. But HABS held their heads high and didn’t take long to respond and Remy Sanders equalised with a smart finish. With 12 minutes to go HABS found themselves 1-2 down but this seemed not to trouble the boys although time was running out. After great work down the right from Joe Santhouse, Ed Cleaver, seemingly out of nothing tucked away a brilliant finish with just 2 minutes left to play. With seconds left, Kazim sent the ball long and all 5’3" of Remy Sanders won a header against one of Highgate’s tallest men to play Ed through again who finished superbly first time to give HABS a dramatic late win.
